{"id":2792,"date":"2025-04-29T13:02:42","date_gmt":"2025-04-29T13:02:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/drpc.org\/blog\/?p=2792"},"modified":"2025-05-06T09:17:23","modified_gmt":"2025-05-06T09:17:23","slug":"drpc-now-supports-stake-weighted-qos-and-mev-protection-on-solana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/drpc.org\/blog\/drpc-now-supports-stake-weighted-qos-and-mev-protection-on-solana\/","title":{"rendered":"dRPC Now Supports Stake-weighted QoS and MEV Protection on Solana"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We\u2019re announcing two major enhancements to dRPC\u2019s infrastructure for Solana developers: <strong>Stake-weighted Quality of Service (QoS)<\/strong> and <a href=\"https:\/\/drpc.org\/docs\/howitworks\/mev-protection\"><strong>MEV Protection<\/strong><\/a> are now both supported natively in our Premium Solana RPC endpoints.<\/p>\n<p>These features address different challenges, but together they make dRPC a significantly more robust option for serious builders on Solana.<\/p>\n<h2>Stake-Weighted QoS: Fair prioritization based on stake<\/h2>\n<p>Solana\u2019s network allows validators to prioritize transaction traffic based on stake through an optional feature called <strong>Stake-weighted Quality of Service<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s what this means in practice:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>dRPC peers directly with staked validators<\/li>\n<li>Transactions routed through dRPC gain <strong>stake-based prioritization<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Up to 80% of a validator\u2019s TPU capacity is distributed based on stake<\/li>\n<li>Prevents <strong>low- or zero-stake validators<\/strong> from flooding the network<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This enhances <strong>Sybil resistance<\/strong> and ensures that traffic coming through dRPC maintains a reliable path to block producers, especially in high-load scenarios.<\/p>\n<h2>MEV Protection: Preventing sandwich attacks at the RPC layer<\/h2>\n<p>In addition to performance improvements, we\u2019re also introducing native MEV protection to all dRPC <a href=\"https:\/\/drpc.org\/chainlist\/solana\">Solana RPC endpoints<\/a>, including public endpoints.<\/p>\n<p>This feature prevents sandwich attacks and other MEV-related transaction manipulations by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Obfuscating transaction contents at the RPC layer<\/li>\n<li>Reducing the visibility window between submission and inclusion<\/li>\n<li>Preventing adversarial actors from reacting to transactions before confirmation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is especially critical for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>DEX users and bots<\/li>\n<li>NFT drops and auctions<\/li>\n<li>Any app where transaction ordering impacts value<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>By applying MEV protection before transactions even reach the network, dRPC provides security guarantees that go beyond typical RPC providers.<\/p>\n<h2>No changes required<\/h2>\n<p>If you&#8217;re already using dRPC, there&#8217;s nothing you need to do, these features are live and working under the hood.
