• The old domain (lb.drpc.org) will continue to work for now, but it will be discontinued in the near future. The soft deadline is the 1st of November.

• If you are starting fresh or copying endpoints from the dRPC web UI, your links will automatically point to the new domain (lb.drpc.live).

Starting June 2, 2025, that complexity is gone. We’re switching to a flat-rate pricing model where all supported methods cost just 20 CUs each — no more per-method variability.

Yes, some simple methods like eth_blockNumber or web3_clientVersion used to cost fewer CUs than 20. These may technically become slightly “more expensive” in CU terms. But because of our low $6 per million request rate, the actual dollar impact is minimal — and still highly competitive with other leading RPC providers like QuickNode, Ankr, Alchemy, and Chainstack.

Plus, our research into user behavior and request breakdowns shows this update benefits the vast majority of our users, especially those building wallets, explorers, dashboards, and DeFi protocols that rely on a mix of standard and complex methods.

Starting June 1, 2025, we will be updating our Free plan to make it more robust and performant for those who need it most at the beginning of their journey. This change is designed to provide a more stable, fair, and transparent usage experience for all users.

New Free Plan

• Monthly Compute Limit:

  The Free Tier will include 210 million Compute Units (CU) per 30-day period, resetting every 30 days from the date of registration.

• Rate Limiting:

  A dynamic rate limitation of approximately 2,100 computational units per second (CUPS) will be applied to ensure fair access during peak periods. This value is several times higher than what most providers offer and covers typical testing needs.

• Method Availability:

  All methods are available except for trace, debug, and filter, which remain disabled on the Free Tier.

• API Key Limit:

  Users can create up to 5 API keys under the Free Plan. If you already have more than 5 keys, they will still be active, but you won’t create any more free keys.

Why This Matters

These adjustments aim to:

• Maintain Service Sustainability:

  Structured usage policies allow us to continue offering robust infrastructure to the developer community at scale.

• Ensure Fair Access:

  Dynamic rate limiting helps maintain consistent service quality for all users, especially during high-demand periods.

Based on historical usage data, these changes will not affect over 86% of current Free users. Still, we want to make sure you’re fully informed.

If you are in the remaining <14% of Free users, we recommend you upgrade to the Growth Plan at any time to unlock all features, premium infrastructure, and remove all restrictions if your usage grows beyond the limits of the Free Plan.

Tip: Even if you’re on a paid plan, you can still use Free API keys with the same limits — just switch the key type in your Settings.

These changes will take effect automatically on June 1, 2025.
